The Current Continues (Oct10)

The winds were blowing this morning aboard the Sea Hound, and it has been a nice change of weather with the trades returning. We had a cool breeze sending us out of the marina and into the bay. At our first site, LCU, we dropped down onto a mild current, that picked up through out the dive.

We were greeted by seven large white tipped reef sharks that were swimming beneath the deck of this overturned barge. They stayed with us for the first part of the dive, equally interested in us.

Around the ship, we spotted many different marine animals as well, including two eagle rays that were enjoying the current.

After about 27 minutes, we made our way back to the boat and the surrent had become quite strong under the surface. We were happy to make our way back onto the boat and to the next site.

Since the current had picked up, we decided that the best spot for us to go was Fantasy, which was perfect for a current rolling through these waters.

Of course, the coral was housing all kinds of creatures, from the white mouthed eels, to the crown of thorns sea star.

We spent about 36 minutes at the bottom enjoying the reef before we sent up our marker buoy and made our way to the surface. As we made our way back into the marina, we enjoyed some light snacks and sunny skies to finish up our morning dives.
