Scuba Refresher and two fun Boat Dives
The scuba refresher course is a full day activity. It starts in the morning by meeting your instructor for the day. All scuba gear is included so you will first be fitting for a scuba gear kit. Then you will head to the pool and talk about some of the scuba skills that you may have forgotten if it has been a while since you last dove. At the pool you will go over the equipment you will be using, with reminders along the way about the safety features of the equipment and proper function. Then it is time to splash.
In the pool, you and your instructor will cover the basics, mask clearing, regulator recovery, and buoyancy control. Just ask your instructor for any other skills that you may want to practice. Most importantly, you will have a chance to get comfortable before you take that giant stride into the ocean in the afternoon! There will be a break for lunch where you can enjoy any number of eateries in the shopping center walking distance from the shop. Likos is our favorite, but there is a McDonalds, Safeway deli sandwich, L&L, Baile, and Toyko Noodle House and a few others. After lunch, we’ll jump on the afternoon boat dives. You’ll do two approximately 45-minute dives at two reef sites at about 35ft of depth.
Scheduling a Scuba Refresher course
We can schedule your course any day of the week. Weekends are busier with locals out in force. So if your schedule allows weekdays are better. It is worth knowing that your afternoon 2 tank boat trip is the same trip that first-time divers. So you can schedule a mixed group and still dive together on the same boat. If you are scheduling a multiday trip and haven’t been diving in a while, this might make a good first day. Once you have this experience under your belt, certified divers should be comfortable joining our deep and drfit dives. These dives happen on morning boats from the same shop. Not all the skills that you might cover are included in this free scuba training, but it is an excellent review of the basics. It is not required, but for those of you that want to get the most out of your time with the instructor, this is a great tool.
