What is Oahu Dive for Life?

Island Divers Hawaii has been the main sponsor for Oahu Dive For Life since its inception. A twist on the Relay for Life to fit what the diving community can relate to, Scuba Diving. Teams of certified divers hit the water at Sharks Cove to dive for 12 hours while donations flood in to support their efforts.

The biggest reward of Dive For Life is that Divers from around the world donate and Oahu Dive For Life has raised over $60000 for the American Cancer Society.  The American Cancer Society representative of Hawaii was blown away by the popularity and efforts that Oahu Dive for Life committed to the cause.

We have outstanding support from the leaders in the Scuba industry like Scubapro, Aqua Lung, Oceanic, Go Pro and many more.  These sponsors have donated over $10,000 worth of prizes to our participants every year!

We want to Oahu Dive for Life to become one of the largest Cancer fundraiser event in Oahu and create a tradition for all our future divers in Hawaii to join together their Dive Shops, Dive Clubs, and weekend dive groups and do something for others.

Update:  The founder of Oahu Dive for Life, Lauren Smith, has left the building!  No, really, she just moved to the Big Island.  There is a large amount of effort involved in organizing all the manufacturers and dive shops that were involved. Mahalo Lauren for organizing the event for it first 6 years!  Island Divers Hawaii and Honolulu Scuba Company are planning on moving forward with a smaller version of this event for club members as participants.  Melissa, whose diving resume on this island includes work for Dive Oahu, Trident Diving Adventures, Island Divers, and Honolulu Scuba Company has stepped forward to take the reins.  Thank you Melissa and good luck!

Updated update:  Melissa did a great job with the 7th annual event Aug 25th 2019 and committed to 2020 on Aug 22nd 2020.
