Start and End and Liko’s Tap and Table
The vessel Sea Fox will pull up to the dock behind Liko’s 15-30 minutes before departure. Captain and crew open boarding for the sunset cruise 15 minutes before departure. Guests will sign liability waiver just prior to boarding. Only sealed containers (such as growlers) filled at Liko’s will be allowed on board. No open containers on the dock!
Departures and Check In for Sunset Cruise
Departure times vary by season, but are approximately 45 minutes before sunset. The sunset cruise lasts one hour. Check the booking calendar for departure times on your chosen date. Check in with the boat captain approximately 15 minutes before departure, so you should plan on arriving at Liko’s approximately 30 minutes before departure to give yourself time to fill your growler at the bar. You may simply want to open a tab if you are planning on drinks and diner after.
Growlers
We are not selling growlers yet, but they are coming. For the time being any seal-able container (like a water bottle or growler) will work. By HI state law, the container must be sealed if you are taking it out of the restaurant – which you have to do to get on the boat. No open containers allowed on dock! The bar at Liko’s has prices for 16oz, 20oz, and 32oz growlers that start at $4 for a 16oz High Life. Craft beers recommended of course.
The Sunset Cruise Sail Plan
At departure time there will be a short sunset cruise boat safety briefing as the Sea Fox gets underway. We head out under the bridge and onto the waters of Maunalua Bay. Reasonable chances to spot a green sea turtle at the surface and even the possibility of dolphins. Whales from Nov to April. We will cruise up the Portlock wall and may even get as far as the famous cliff jumping site Spitting Caves, weather permitting. (FYI, cliff jumping not recommended, someone dies every year). Great views of Diamond Head and the twin mountains Koko Head and Koko Crater. As the sun goes down and the sky changes color we’ll maneuver the boat for sunset pictures. After the sun goes down we head back to the dock at Liko’s. Right before Sunset the captain will ask guests for table requests at Liko’s if you are planning on having dinner on the water there.
