Fantasy and Anglers 7/27 AM

Today was kind of a blustery day but the sky was blue and it was warm out.  Our first site today was Fantasy reef or what we secretly call it “Turtletopia”.   We had no shortage of turtles or eels today there.  We were met with turtles and there was just more and more all the time.  Everyone had a good time exploring the reef and all the life there.  Did I mention how many turtles we got to see there?  The abundance of reef fish was amazing.

We then motored over to Angler’s Reef just in time for the sea to settle down a bit.  This was the nicest relaxing dive and yes lots more eels.  We got a pretty good show from a rock mover wrasse juvenile.  He darted all around showing off and let everyone take lots of pictures of him.  About half way through the dive we started noticing these small things floating by in the current.  There were thousands of them.  Upon further inspection we discovered they were actually very small sea creatures.  At first the thought was sea horses….they were so small!!  Finally one landed on my fingers and we were in a shower of newly hatched sea hares!!  It was pretty amazing to be engulfed in them all the way around.  It is something that happens here but very rarely.  What a great dive site choice.
