Neil was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada but spent most of his time growing up in Michigan. Although surrounded by one of the largest freshwater lake systems in the entire world, Neil never tried SCUBA until he was 18. After moving to Illinois in 2007 he took his first breath underwater in a pool, but he wasn’t going to wait for the lake to thaw to finish his open water class. He packed up his bags and moved south to the Florida Keys where he focused his attention to his newfound passion and obtained his instructor certification in 2009. From then on, the ocean was home and his love for the sport has taken him through many different facets of the industry in much of the Caribbean, the Philippines and here in Hawaii. Neil is currently a USCG 100ton Captain and a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer with the ability to teach PADI Tec Rec courses through open circuit trimix.
The charter this afternoon was full of new divers, divers working on their certification, finishing certification and advancing their skills.
