About Three Tables

Three tables is located just past Waimea Bay if you are coming from Haleiwa.  Limited parking is available on the left side of the road.  During the summer you want to get their early as it fills up quickly.  Just shore side of the parking is a grassy area and a bunch of shade trees that open up down onto the sandy beach.  We sent up our tents in the grassy area.

The entry is really easy in the summer with the lack of swell (usually). There is a short swim past the series of wash rocks that are visible from shore (the three tables).  Past that it is about 15′ of depth to about 25′ when there is a short wall drop off into approximately 35′ of water.  Follow that ledge to the left you will eventually get to an area called Car Wash.  You’ll know you are there if you are in 65ft or more of water.  Be careful, you are far from the exit at this point and air will be going faster, you could easily end up with a long swim back if you hit 500psi out there!

If you follow the ledge to the right and explore you’ll be in the area called Firehouse (directly offshore of the fire station).  It is possible to traverse all the way to sharks cove, but it is a stretch on a side 80 and usually ends up with a least part of it being a surface swim, not to mention a pretty decent walk back with scuba gear on your back.  This is a fun route if you are looking for adventure.  However, it is not an easy three tables dive.

Specialty of the Month at Three Tables

If you are interested in a class during this event check out the Specialty of the Month.  Underwater Naturalist is the specialty for this event.  Good one for the three tables area.
