Calfs Galore 3/21/2014
We began our charter with a very peppy attitude and a great crowd. Departing the dock at 16:45 with our spirits high and excited for the next two hours. We passed Port lock and continued down to Sea Cave, not a spout in site but that did not dampen the mood in the slightest. We were heading back into Maunalua bay when we saw breaching about two and a half miles off shore. We raced out to catch the amazing jumping calf, but once we arrived they ceased the happy breaching. We followed them for about a half hour before turning and heading back into calmer water. Once we got back into the bay to watch the sunset we looked off into the distance and saw them breaching in unison mother and her calf. Still incredible from so far away. Thank you to all our whale watchers for coming out with us tonight. You were very energetic and lively, we appreciate your good attitudes even when the whales do not cooperate with us the way we like them too. I hope you all had as much fun as I did tonight and I wish you all would come back out again with us soon or even next season. Aloha.
