SHARKS AT THE LANDING CRAFT 26 oct

“OK, what do you guys want to see today?” I asked my divers.  “SHARKS, SHARKS, SHARKS !!!,” they answered.  So, off to the LCU, or Landing Craft Unit we went.  at 90 feet of depth, the LCU is a purposely sunk boat, cleaned and stripped, to create an artificial reef and dive site.  when sinking it flipped upside down, creating a large, dark overhead environment, with multiple openings on both sides.  and the local white tip sharks love hanging out under there!  so it is often a top choice to see some sharks!  today was no exception, as we saw a good sized shark up close and personal!  it is also a great site for eagle rays, and we saw them also, as well a huge school of barracuda!  great dive!  2nd jump was a drift of Fantasy reef, always a spectacular experience, with its lava flow topography filled with giant sea turtles, eels, octopus, a myriad of reef fish, as well as more sharks!  thanks to all for safe diving, larry, captain joe.
