Today we dove Koko Crater, max depth 38ft, and Turtle Canyon, max depth 40ft. Both sites provided great interactions with Hawaiian green sea turtles, Emory eels, and giant helmet conch shells. These dives also gave our divemaster candidates from Hawaii Scuba University the opportunity to assist open water students Michael and Hung in completing their certification dives. Congratulations Michael and Hung in becoming our newest certified divers.
The morning after a super moon gave us a great chance to get back into the water. Our dives today took us to Baby Barge, max depth 85ft, and Anglers Reef, max depth 50ft, where we were greeted by octopus, Emory eels, and a giant trident trumpet. Today was also had a great chance for a couple of dive master candidate’s to join us from Hawaii Scuba University for some excellent training. All in all a great day.
A blustery Saturday morning welcomed our determined divers as they boarded the Sea Fox for a early advanced set of dives. On board and ready to hit the water were Jeff, John, Chris, Susan, Brittany, Arnold, Patrick, Atley, Casey, Kaoru, Kayleigh, Ashley, Phillip, Rob, Trish, and Mac… our first site… Corsair.
A bit of a current was the order of the day, but all our divers heeded the advice of the briefing and used the lines down to the wreck. A beautiful site to see as it is our deepest wreck at 107ft…
Back aboard and after a surface interval and snacks we decided to drop in on one of Larry’s favorite sites… Fantasy Reef!

The boat left the dock this evening on the way to our Dusk and Night dives. The ride to the sight was filled with anticipation of what we might see. First time Night Divers, Marissa, Zach and Daniel…accompanied by many more experienced divers. We went to LCU and were met there by a little bit of a strong current. The beautifully graceful white tip reef sharks where there at their usual spot, always a thrill to see them.
Our second dive site was Anglers Reef, one of my personal favorite night dive spots. This dive was breathtaking. Our first encounter was a white mouth moray that was free swimming and hunting. We got to witness him catching his pray. So exciting to witness the circle of life. The Moorish Idols were abundant everywhere we looked. The next sight was a Spanish Dancer who put on quite a show for us. The ripple of the body moving through the water was hypnotic. So many other sights….You will have to come experience them for yourself!!!

Baby Barge is always one of our liveliest wreck dives and today was no different. So many of our Hawaiian reef fish to be see. Curious yellow margin eels and even a couple of big green sea turtles. The visibility was over 100 feet and the currents were very calm. All this made for an awesome first dive of the day. Divers Marissa, Daniel and Zach got to experience Nitrox for the first time completing there Nitrox class with flying colors.
The second dive of the day was over the beautiful Fantasy Reef. The drift diving was so peaceful and again, huge amounts of sea life. Really getting to see tons of the sea turtles. We always have so much fun doing the dives here, so many places to look and the swim through is great. All and all this was the perfect start to a fantastic Aloha Friday!!!

Wednesday morning and Maunaloa Bay was in a frisky mood. Winds, surge, and choppy seas made the ride for our divers a bit of a challenge. But the group including Sheraiz, Rick, Mary, and the group from Sunshine Scuba made the trip out to LCU without a hitch. A fair Koko Head current made using the lines a must, and the divers made their way down to the wreck…
and the LCU made its usual impression on us all!
A single white tip circled the area…
while a group of 5 Eagle Rays did a fly bye of the site…
and the school of fish that inhabit the site seem to be getting bigger every day.
Soon it was time to surface and get ready for our drift dive of Fantasy Reef.
And it was a turtle mecca with at least 8 turtles swimming, resting, and posing for the cameras.

What a fantastic afternoon charter we had today. Visiting Koko Crater (max depth around 35 feet). We were visited by turtles and eels to mention a few. The waters were very clear today and warm. There were students in training, one young man discovering scuba and several certified divers. A good time had by all.
Our second dive site was to Turtle Canyon (max depth 37 feet). The baby green sea turtle came over and was super interested in our class today. There were so many other things to see….eels, nudibranchs. The viz was great again, another great day of diving. 
The weather of the day was blustery winds, choppy surface waves, and some strong currents… but that did not deter our optimistic band of divers from braving the conditions for a Friday advanced diving out in Maunaloa Bay. Bryan, Chris, Ed, Hideto, Joe, John, Lee, Lyndsay, Monolo, and Hayree all boarded the Sea Fox and headed out enroute to our first deep site… the Landing Craft Utility.
Under the wreck 2 White Tip Reef Sharks woke up from their slumber and decided too much company had arrived…
while a few Spotted Eagle Rays enjoyed the currents around the site…

Too soon it was time to surface and head to our next destination… Spitting Caves.
Strong currents and low visibility made it a rough day on the wall… not a lot to see but all our divers braved the conditions and completed a safe dive. Thank you to all our divers for a safe and fun day of diving… ALOHA!

Angler’s reef is always such a nice dive for us. (max depth is around 50 feet) Lots of Devil Scorpion Fish and Eels out today. There was a little current but it made the return trip on the reef so nice.
The second dive was to Turtle Canyon…Lots to see there also. One of the nice finds was a Leaf Scorpion fish. Also several eels and a baby turtle. We are so lucky to get to dive here in Hawaii….

What a pair of wonderful dives today. First we dove the Kahala Barge….loads of fish and clear water. Then we went to drift Spitting Caves. Pretty sure all the sea creatures knew we were coming today because they put on quite a show for us. Greeted by so many of our amazing reef fish…..then the stars came out. Monk Seal in the second small cave we looked in. He hung out with us for quite awhile letting everyone get to see him. Huge yellow frog fish and a good 5 foot shark. The eels came to see us doing their hypnotic dances. All and all it was an epic dive for all on the boat!!!
