An Excellent 3 Tank Sunday

Our three tanker today started off with a great dive to The Corsair (107ft). While down there our divers got some eyes on lobsters, garden eels, and Leaf Scorpionfish.

The second dive took us down to both the YO-257(ft100) and the San Pedro(ft85). We Dropped onto the San Pedro first and then traversed the several hundred over to the YO-257. There we saw turtles, eels, and octopus.

Funday Friday

This morning our charter took us to two of our favorite dive sites, The LCU (90ft) and Fantasy Reef (55ft). Both sites provided our divers with great interactions with White Tip Reef sharks, Eagle Rays, Hawaiian Green Sea Turtle, and much more.LRG_DSC01649

Sunshine, Rainbows, and Scuba Diving!

Today was a beautiful day out on the water here in Oahu! We had two students on the boat working towards their Open Water Certification and five certified divers all out to have a fun time. The first dive site we went to was Hawaii Loa. As we jumped in and descended to the bottom at about 35 feet we were greeted by a green sea turtle! We also saw porcupine fish, a school of moorish idols and sargent majors. After a 40 minute dive swimming with the fishies we headed back up onto the boat and over to our second dive site.

The second dive site we went to was Anglers Reef. The maximum depth on the bottom of the ledge is about 45 feet. We saw quite a few different types of moray eels, trumpet fish, and a school of trigger fish. The water was nice and clear and the divers were happy. After another 40 minute dive we headed back into the bay with the sun shinning and a lovely rainbow guiding our way back in. Overall it was an excellent both on and under the water. Congratulations to Steven and Adelle for completing their Open Water Scuba Diver certifications! See you guys next time!

A Beautiful day at Sea and Under!

What a fantastic day for our most popular dive, the three tanker.  Light winds and a calm sea were our weather forecast all day.  We started the day a little different, the drift dive was first.  It was fantastic to be over at one of our wall dive at Spitting Caves.  It was filled with all the underwater wonder that it usually is.  Octopus, sharks, eels and reef fish.  Several people were working on classes and everyone else was just enjoying their dives!

On the way to the next dive site we did the first half or our whale watching tour…..well not really but the whales were out and about and letting us watch them.  We did our second dive at Baby Barge, which had a good current today.  Again with loads of sea life and so much to sea.

After a great lunch Kendal and Davy put out for us we headed to fantasy reef.  I almost think we should rename this to Turtle Alley soon….Everywhere you looked there was another one.  Making it the perfect sight to teach our PADI Hawaiian Honu specialty.  Congratulations Kevin!  Also finished up our PADI Drift diver Spcailties, Great Job Paul, Michelle and Chris.  Eddie and William finished there Nitrox specialties. William also competed his PADI AOW Class today.

What a great day for all.  Thank you Awesome divers.

Perfect Dive Day on Baby Barge and Sea Cave!!!

The skies cleared and the winds have calmed down, which is the making for a perfect dive day.  First drop was on baby barge today.  We free defended to the shark cave then swam back to wreck.  So many octopus on this dive and got to see one of the baby sharks in the small cave back at the wreck.  We we also happy to see one of our many Green Sea Turtles.

White Tip Reef Shark

So excited because it’s been a long time since we were able to go to sea cave.  HUGE Shark in there and almost everyone had a chance to see it.  Everyone really liked the sea cave then we came out and drifted west.  Right at the mouth of the cave was another octopus, also got to see a couple eels, scorpion devil fish and so many moorish idols you couldn’t even count.  We did our entire safety stop surrounded by them!!

Dive Sites:  Baby Barge Max depth 85 feet, Sea Cave max depth 50 feet…viz on both was 100+

WHALES and a Double Drift!! Booya! 12/02

Current was a little quick this morning so we opted to do a double drift on Fantasy and Anglers!  We were greeted on the way to the dive site with humpbacks breaching!!  What a great start to the morning, plus we had birthday girl Courtney on the boat and also newly engaged couple Sophia and Nathan. (They did it yesterday on our Afternoon charter under the water!!)    Fantasy Reef was fantastic today, with Sharks, to many turtles to count, frog fish and millions of reef fish.  The dive was so amazing no one wanted to come up.

Anglers Reef was  super relaxing today, the current died a little.  We drifted along slowly which gave us time to look in all the little nooks and crannies.  We found a huge tridents trumpet,  purple scorpion leaf fish, lizard fish, loads of eels.  This gave Zach, Sophia and Nathan time to finish up there PADI Drift Diver Specialty.

Beautiful Koko Crater and Turtle Canyon 11/30

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

What a beautiful dive at KoKo Crater today, with blue skies and light tradewinds.  There was a small current but it was no issue for our amazing divers and DSD.  There was no shortage of turtles swimming about us, which made Cathie, the birthday girl very happy!  We got to spend a bit of time at back crater and some of the marine life we saw was:  Sponge Crabs x2, Moray’s, Scorpion Devil fish, and tons of reef fish.  So exciting.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Turtle canyon was a bit stirred up today, we still got to see some pretty amazing things.  Turtle feeding on the reef, eels galore and again reef fish.  Found this juvenile rock mover wrasse too, always exciting.  We had such a great time today on the boat.  Ryan and Austin even booked to go on our AM boat and are doing the PADI Enriched Air class!

It’s Monday, lets dive!

LRG_DSC01415LRG_DSC01413LRG_DSC01409

Monday morning diving, not a bad way to get back into the week. Our dives were down at the wreck LCU (95ft) and the drift at Fantasy Reef (55ft). Although it was a bit ruff at the surface once we got down below, it was something beautiful. Eels, Turtles, and white tip reef sharks were out for all to see as the divers got to experience the unseasonably warm waters of this great island.

DRIFTING OUTSIDE HANAUMA BAY!! 24 nov.

Excellent time today as we did two, yes TWO, drift dives on the incredible wall outside of Hanauma Bay.  First drop was Sea Cave, a dive site that never, ever fails to awe divers!  it was a bit rough on the surface, but so worth a bouncy ride, as we saw sharks, turtles, a hairy-legged hermit crab, as well as huge schools of long tailed banner fish!   inside the cave, the topography and light from an overhead opening is spectacular!  2nd jump was a drift of Spitting Cave, one of my favorites.   it is caves and canyons, with turtles cleaning stations, white tip shark hangouts, as well as octopus, frogfish, scorpion fish, schools of reef fish. .  .  you get the picture!  thanks to all for safe diving!  larry

For the Love of Frog Fish!!

What a day for the rain to stop and give us some blue sky and light wind to dive.  LCU was 100+ feet of viz and a very light current!  Eagle rays, eels, even a shark sighting.  The water is still so warm hard to believe it’s the end of November. Did some training on the deep part of the dive today with our AOW Students and everyone else just enjoyed the wreck.

Drifting one of our favorites, Fantasy Reef is always a dream.  The current was light so we got to explore quite a bit today.  Turtles, Eels, and one of our Favorite locals on the reef, the Yellow Frog Fish!!  Only a face a Diver could love.  The drift was fantastic today and everyone had a super time.
