Aloha,
Thanks for choosing to spend your Father’s day diving with Island Divers Hawai’i. We had a great day of diving! In honor of all the dads on our boat today I made some extra special goodies, banana bread and chocolate chip cookies! Needless to say, we had some very happy and full divers today. We had Marco out finishing up his Deep diver specialty, Brett, Carrie, Olin, Daniel, Jason, Jo, Kristina, Matt, and Norma completing their AOW certification, and Rob and Cindy joining for some fun dives. Overall, it was a great boat of divers. We had 100% of divers request the Corsair and headed there for our first dive. The F4 Corsair rests in about 108′ of water. We had a total bottom time of :28. While on this site we cracked some eggs and watched them bob along underwater fulling staying together until the damsel fish showed up….If you haven’t tried the egg trick, sign up for a deep dive/your AOW and check it out! Its really cool to learn how pressure effects our bodies and eggs! We decided to head to town for dive two on the Sea Tiger. We hit a max depth of 113′ and had about :30 of total bottom time. While exploring the wreck we were graced with a spotted eagle appearance, three sea turtles, and a school of false Moorish idols. Cindy over came her fears and actually swam through the cabin and into one of the holds!!! Way to go, Cindy!!! We’re going to make a wreck diver of you one day for sure. Our AOW team of Aughie doggie divers needed to complete a drift dive so we decided to drift the YO257. As luck would have it, we actually made the entire YO257 Circuit!!! Just to explain how rare and exciting this is, I haven’t been able to do this circuit in nearly 5 years! This speaks highly of our guests ability to monitor their depths, bottom times, and air consumption. Great job divers, that was a super rare dive with fantastic viz and great conditions! This circuit was pretty deep with some divers hitting a max depth of 113′ and having a total bottom time of :28. We dropped in at the wings, shallowed out and headed to the lobster traps, pyramids, and then ended with our safety stops over San Pedro and the YO257. As you might guess, we had a really great day in and on the water. Thanks again for choosing to dive with IDH. Until next time, dive easy!
Aloha,
Amy
